Update from Tom Kelly
Last Fall, I hurt my engine at ATCO
Speedway. I knew something was wrong from the blow-by coming out of
the filler cap and pcv valve and the tailpipe smoke. The real giveaway
was the clanking sound.
Diagnosis turned out
to be two cracked pistons, one broken ring, worn cam, very clean
engine with no damage to cylinders with perfect crank and rods and the
wear and tear that 155,000 miles will do to an engine.
Had it redone with new
Ross forged pistons, new .488/109 deg cam from Carmen Faso, new push
rods, fuel pump, oil pump, lifters, etc.
Also John Csordas
treated the engine to a detailing. Check out the pictures.
I figure if I could do
13.82 with all this stuff, I should do better now. We'll see.
Thanks to John who did
all the work, and Carmen Faso who provided advice and parts.
